Biography
Meri Bourgard’s drawings and paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in museums, galleries and alternative spaces in the United States and in Europe.
Her work has been exhibited at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunst in Vienna, Austria; and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. In New York, she has shown at the Site Gallery, Omni Gallery, Grayz, Catherine Lagot, First Street Gallery, The Dime Savings Bank Corporate Gallery and in Galleries of Pratt Institute and St Johns University. Exhibitions in Vermont include the Ice House of Burlington, the University of Vermont's Fleming Museum, Francis Colburn Gallery, and Royal Tyler Theater, and the Discovery Museum in Essex Junction. In addition, she has shown at the Marion Stevens Gallery in Key West, Florida; Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. She has received grants from the Vermont Council on the Arts and Pratt Institute Faculty Development Program. Meri's art has been reviewed in Arts & Antiques magazine, the New York Times, and numerous Vermont publications. Her artwork is included in public and private collections nationwide and in Europe.
Meri received a BA from Hunter College and an MFA from Pratt Institute where she has been a faculty member since 1985. As an Adjunct Professor with CCE, Meri currently teaches Color I and II in Pratt's Graduate Industrial Design department.
